9/17/05 - We have been getting so many CDs.  The news ones include; Pam Nielson, Michele Baer, 6th Gear, Hilary Weeks, MoTab, Boise Idaho Institute Choir (Unison).  The list just goes on and on and on.  If you would like to hear any of this... just listen to The Iron Rod every Sunday @ 7:00pm on AM730 for the next few months!  Have fun!

9/11/05 - We're way excited to bring to you, Hilary Weeks!  Over this weekend, the Institute had their annual "Institute Spectacular!"  Hilary Weeks came and performed at the fireside right before the dance on Saturday!  It was great!  We managed to pull her aside for an hour and interview her!  The interview was GREAT!  You can listen to the whole interview next Sunday the 18th on AM730 at 7:00pm.  Or online at the same time!

8/11/05 - We've just discovered that the radio committee at the institute has been approved!  It's official!  We've got ourselves a radio committee!  The first official item of business we'll do in that meeting is rename it "The Iron Rod Committee!"  Sweet!  Come and help us with the show and the committee!  Sign up for Institute Committees!  This is your way of suggesting and putting in your input on how to better The Iron Rod!

6/19/05 - We at The Iron Rod just discovered that Boise State Student Radio (also know as the "University Pulse,")  has finally created it's own website separate from Boise State's Jazz Station web page.  The link is http://pulse.boisestate.edu.  There's not too much to see yet... but there soon will be!  Check it out!

6/3/05 - The Iron Rod is always receiving new music.  Just look at the last update right below this one.  Well, we got another one!  It's Lauri Carrigan and her new and first (I think) CD, "Safety of His Arms."  Listen for this new CD to be featured on The Iron Rod on the 6/19/05 show.  Listen in and always check back for new artists.

6/2/05 - The Iron just continues to get sweet CD's to add to it's library of music.  That also means more CD's for you, the listener to win!!  We received a new CD called, "LDS Super Hits of the 80's!"  Sure it sounds a bit cheesy, and I guess it is a little, but what a great way to remember the great LDS artists who paved the way!  Most of them are still singing today!  Along with the CD, is an actual vinyl record with the same songs on it!  Click here to see it!  Some lucky listener could win that too!

5/20/05 - Over the summer break you will find very little activity at the institute normally.  They still hold classes, but the activities are less.  Because of that, you will also see a little less activity with "The Iron Rod."  We are going to enjoy our summer break as much as you.  However you can always hear us on Sundays @ 7:00 on AM730!!  Have fun!

5//07/05 - We have totally redone the playlist.  They were long pages, and very slow to load up.  They're done now!  They are very easy to read now, and have a very modern design.  Check it out here!

4/9/05 - Have you heard of Peter Breinholt?  NO!?  Yes!?  Sweet!  Well learn more here!  Why?  We are going to feature all four of his albums on the 17th, and the 24th on The Iron Rod!  Too sweet to believe . . .  I know!

4/1/05 - Listen this Sunday (the 3rd) for the Joseph Smith Special.  This is no joke!

2/20/05 - The Iron Rod will have it's ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOW on March 6th, 2005.  Some of our long time fans will remember our first show was on March 6th, 2004.  The show is already being put together!!  You can expect to hear segments from old show, some our funniest moments, and some of our most spiritual moments (  :-)  if we can find some!), some of our funny radio spots (advertisements).  In other words it will be a blast.  Call it a BEST OF THE IRON ROD Anniversary Show!!  And there will be a special segment.  Clips of the old radio show called "The Word," before we took over and changed it!

2/6/05 - All 6 questions for the Gladys Knight contest have been posted on the Specials Page so you can make sure you got them all!  Listen to The Iron Rod for the answers!!  Then be the first to send us your emails with the questions and the answers to win!  Good luck!

1/30/05 - We apologize for the mistake on the 1-30-05 show.  The 3rd song was not "Jessie Clark - Look and Live," it was "Jessie Clark - I Feel My Savior's Love" off the "Look and Live EFY Album.

12/21/04 - It's official now.  The Iron Rod can now be heard an hour earlier.  That's right!  Listen to us on Sundays now from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm!!  After conducting the survey at the institute, that is the time that everyone chose.  Hopefully that will allow a bigger majority of listeners to enjoy The Iron Rod.  Happy Listening oh, and Merry Christmas from The Iron Rod.

12/23/04 - Our Christmas Special Aired on December 26th.  A day after Christmas.  That was as close as we could get!  Hope everyone enjoyed it!  Merry Christmas from "The Iron Rod!"

10/25/04 - The Iron Rod conducted a survey of all committee members at the institute.  It went very well.  Questions included:  1) What time would it be most convenient to listen to The Iron Rod on Sundays?  2)  What kind of music would want to hear on the show?  3) What are some strong points?  Weak points of the show?  Didn't get a chance to fill one out?  Want your voice heard?  Send us a line!

A lot was gained, and a lot was learned.  Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey.

10/31/04 - "The Iron Rod" played it's Halloween Special.  It was a great show offering some great music and some great entertainment as well.

10/24/04 - "The Iron Rod" had it's first female on air on this date.  We heard from some fans, the show needed more female power excluding the female singers.  Katie Ormond, Rob's wife was the first female guest.  We all had a blast.  Think you have what it takes to be on the show?  E-mail us!

10/15/04 - The website's main page (the one your looking at) is currently under construction.  Please be patient if it doesn't work right.  Also, Microsoft Windows Service Pack 2 for Windows XP is blocking some features of our website.  If you have Service Pack 2, and you want to get the best "Iron Rod" website experience, enable "active content" by using the yellow bar that appears on the top of your web browser.  If you have no clue what I'm talking about, then you probably don't have to worry about it.  E-mail questions here.

10/15/04 - Beginning the new quarter, The Iron Rod will try to switch hours.  Listen for us on Sunday's from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  This change will "come to pass" because of the survey.  7-8 worked for most people.  We realize that may make it harder for some to listen, but we are trying to give everyone the best chance to listen. 

10/15/04 - The website's main page has been completely re-done.  New pages have also been added.  Check out our Artist page, our Playlist page, and our Download page.

11/06/04 - "The Iron Rod" [was] giving out tickets to see Michael McLean's "The Forgotten Carols."  Yup!  You heard right!  Yes!  Dead serious!!  We [gave] out 10 pairs of tickets to his show November 27th at the Taco Bell arena.

11/21/04 - Keep listening to The Iron Rod because we will be continuing to give prizes out in the future.  Keep listening even if you don't want the prizes.  That way you'll know what others at the Institute have won!!

11/21/04 - The Iron Rod read the first four emails it received for the Michael McLean concert ticket giveaway on this Sunday's show.  They were great.  We will read the rest of them next week.  Thanks to everyone who sent an email.  If you won tickets, congratulations, and we'll see you there at the show!
